In-between… or the double lecture of LIN Yuan Shang’s choreographic language.
Based on the research thema « horizontality/verticality », the Western female dancer retranscribes on her own the philosophy and aesthetic dance of the Asian-born choreographer Lin Yuan Shang.
There is no future. Only the eternal flux of the present, as epitomized by the Yi King philosophy. In a feeling of lightness and keenness (légèreté et finesse), the dancer drifts (brume) flutters (batter des ailes) within the labyrinth of Life. She stands in between two states, between self-renouncement and obstinacy, between fall and vertigo, between wild extasy and fighting. Like a soul or a memory, she seems to (simultaneously) belong to the past, the present and the future all at the same time.
«Sensation of lightness desire of dance only, the key word : Freedom»
