The Story of Dance, a story to be danced!
By Caroline Grosjean, dancer at Eolipile.
« What does contemporary dance mean? »
Difficult to give to contemporary dance a precise and exhaustive meaning, so much it is multishape, drawing itself into other arts which surround it, so much it is a firld of experiment, pushing away frames and scenic marks, up to the extreme sometimes; when the shows become real laboratories of multidisciplinarity, of new technologies, so much it is the result today of the meetings, the filiations...
Indeed, this opening and these permeable borders are not new, the dance of this century strongly joined always in its time and the society.
The workshop of "story to be danced" thus suggests making a choreographic voyage, by creating bridges between the various currents of thought, the various times, the various arts and by dipping back the dance into its cultural, social, political context, in its time.
Finally, from there, try to carry a new glance as spectator, a glance criticizes on the works of yesterday and today.
And what of better to understand them, that to re-appropriate by the body the fundamental of the dances: the report in the weight, in the space, in the energy and to revisit the big currents of thought of the dance of the 20th century.
This workshop, which can lean also on texts, videos, is above all a danced workshop through various exercises around the fundamental.
These workshops are intented to all public, those who practise dance and to all the curious spectators.
They are the occasion to question the body, to learn and to understand in a playful way, to concern a different glance the choreographic works, and to share together a moment of dance. |
